Juana lives in a small community in Nicaragua called Las Jaguas. Reflecting on her childhood, she shared:

“My family was very poor and none of my siblings went to school. Our dad only taught us how to work in the fields. I told myself that when I got married, it wouldn’t be the same. I would have an income of my own.”

20 years ago, she received a single chicken from her mother-in-law as a wedding gift. To her, this was an opportunity to do what she’d always dreamed of.

She started a chicken business with Rainbow Network, and today, she proudly owns 50 chickens!
