Empowerment is at the core of our mission. As people pursue education, learn new skills, lean into their natural giftings and take on leadership roles, they begin to flourish.

When we partner with a community, we walk alongside them for several years. Once a community reaches certain progress milestones, they graduate from our programs and step out on their own!

This has always been our goal, but it’s still a miracle every time it happens. It’s only through the grace and leadership of God that communities graduate and are transformed for generations to come.

Ana Rosa (pictured above) lives in Chichihualtepe, Nicaragua – a community that recently reached this milestone.

Before partnering with Rainbow Network, she remembers it as a place marked by need and resignation. Only a few people had jobs, opportunities were scarce, and young people believed it was their destiny to drop out of school, marry at an early age and work in the fields. Many children suffered from malnutrition and only a few families managed to access schooling.

But everything changed when they decided to partner with Rainbow Network. 

Over the years-

• Thousands of nutritious meals were served at Rainbow Network nutrition centers.
• Hundreds of students attended school through the scholarship program, a clean water system was installed and many small businesses were started.
• Students went on to pursue careers that allowed them to provide for their family and give back to the community.
• People learned that they were image-bearers of God who were loved by their Father and each other.

Ana Rosa saw a lot of change in herself too.

As a single mother, she struggled for years with insecurity – fearing that she wouldn’t be able to raise her children well. But through her experience with Rainbow Network, she grew in confidence and eventually stepped into a volunteer leadership role! Looking back, she says she learned to believe in herself and to trust God, even in the hardest moments.

In 2025, Chichihualtepe graduated from Rainbow Network! We are so proud of all this community has accomplished – thanks to the tireless work and dedication of people like Ana Rosa.
