Auxiliadora Morales Hurtado

Auxiliadora has been working with The Rainbow Network in her community of San Ramón since 2002. Now 64 years old, she is a single mother with a successful business of her own.

After learning more about Rainbow Network's economic development programs, Auxiliadora began a small business selling grains. She used these profits to invest in a freezer, and offered different products such as sodas, drinks, ice, popsicles, and other goods.

Auxiliadora eventually earned enough that she was able to expand her business into a complete convenience store. She soon was also able to buy a full-size refrigerator, which allowed her to expand her inventory and increase her success.

Later, she purchased a display case, some shelving, and was able to remodel her home.

Auxiliadora has two children: Abigail Tirzah Mayorga Hurtado and Walmaro Antonio Mayorga Hurtado. Thanks to Auxiliadora's dedication and commitment to hard work, both of her children were able to receive an education. Walmaro graduated as a technician in woodworking and Abigail has a degree in statistics.

Auxiliadora has gotten to grow much closer to her community through her business and is immensely proud that her children have pursued careers in areas that interest each of them.

Without The Rainbow Network, Auxiliadora may not have had the tools to build the successful business she now has.
