We rely on the people of our communities to operate nutrition centers in their communities. While we provide the food, volunteers in the community prepare and serve the food. We train volunteer cooks how to use manna packs and other nutritious packages so that they are able to cook a variety of meals.

Nutrition centers take place in conjunction with our afternoon reinforcement classes for primary school children. Most of the recipients in nutrition centers are children, pregnant or nursing mothers, and at-risk elderly. Our physicians can also write prescriptions for any adult who is malnourished, and they may enjoy a nutritious meal as well.

Without the nutrition centers, many children would not eat anything for days.

In addition to the food, children are also taught how to properly wash their hands to stop the spread of harmful bacteria. By teaching these healthy habits early on, children are more likely to continue these practices into adulthood and share this information with others.
