Eduardo is a 37-year-old entrepreneur who has found great success in his farming business. He and his brother, Pedro, have built a thriving business that started as a small butchering and cooking operation, which has now grown into a business-to-business intermediary between meat wholesalers and retailers.
As the business began to grow, Eduardo wanted to expand. He purchased a cow and continued tending to the farm. With these increases in profits, he and Pedro were able to purchase motorcycles and a new cart, which allowed them to further broaden the scope of their operations.
Now nearly a decade later, Eduardo is enjoying the fruits of his labor. His business now primarily consists of brokering deals for dozens of animals; he acts as an intermediary buyer for both cows and pigs, and rarely butchers anything these days. He manages the cash flow, and will occasionally purchase a cow for his mother. He has even made small loans to his family members to help them establish their own businesses.
