Sonia del Socorro Cordobas

Sonia del Socorro Cordobas

Sonia is now 44 years old and is from El Paraíso. Sonia and her husband frequently transitioned from one house to another with their five children, finding shelter anywhere they could.

Soon, Sonia's husband abandoned the family, leaving Sonia to care for five young kids alone.

Sonia's children were starving, and the older children soon started working to try to help the family improve their economic situation. Due to financial and transportation concerns, none of the children could attend school.

Desperate to change their lives, Sonia sought support from the community, and quickly learned about The Rainbow Network. She applied to live in the housing project that was being built, and learned soon after that she and her children would be getting a home of their own.
